Was looking for a small digital television. My experience with digital televisions generally is that the reception is spotty and disappointing, even with a powered antenna. I have some experience with setting up television antennas, and fairly tech savvy, but the reception I've been able to get through the "digital television welfare stamp" boxes has been universally awful. I didn't know what to expect with this, but I only needed to grab a couple of local channels, and it has the capability of being used as a monitor, so what the heck. However, even the attached antenna pulled in more stations, more consistently, than any of the powered antennas I have used. True both at my house, my mother's house, and a friend's apartment. GOOD SURPRISE! But when I switched to the included external antenna, everything became clear. Its just a cheesy single pole tiltable antenna, but it brings in stations I've never seen even with several different powered antennae. My only real disappointment was the 2 hour battery life. Better not start watching the ABC movie of the week, you might miss the end. Best advice here-if you don;t have an outlet handy-turn it off during commercial breaks. That should get your thrgouh. Comes with car adapter, headphone (although the internal speakers are adequate), and video adapter cable.
